BrazilNews.live respects your privacy and complies with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Lei nº 13.709/2018).

Reading without an account

Reading the portal requires no registration. For visitors without an account we only use the strictly necessary cookie lang (chosen language). Analytics is cookieless and does not identify visitors. There are no advertising cookies.

Account and comments

When you register we store: email, name, a password hash (bcrypt; we never know the password itself) or your Google account identifier when signing in with Google, registration and last-login dates, plus your comments and likes. The account is activated only after email confirmation. Signing in uses the strictly necessary cookies portal_session (session, 30 days) and csrf_token (request-forgery protection).

Newsletter

The weekly digest is sent only after double opt-in: the subscription activates via the link in the confirmation email. Every email contains an unsubscribe link. We store the email address, language and subscription/confirmation/unsubscribe dates. Emails are delivered via Brevo.

Push notifications

The breaking-news subscription stores a technical browser endpoint and language; it can be disabled with one click using the same button.

Server logs

The web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, request time, page) for security and stability. Logs are retained for a limited period and are not used for profiling.

Your rights (LGPD)

You may request information about the processing of your data, its correction or deletion. You can delete the account yourself on the account page: sessions, likes and push subscriptions are deleted, comments are anonymized, the newsletter subscription ends, and the account record is erased irreversibly.
