Brazilian sertanejo singer Lauana Prado gave birth to her first child, Dom, on the morning of Friday, July 31, in São Paulo. He arrived at around 7:30 a.m. during the 38th week of pregnancy, via caesarean section, weighing 2.995 kg. Both mother and baby are doing well.

What does the name Dom mean?

The name Dom has Latin roots, derived from Dominus, meaning "Lord" or "Master." According to the singer's press team, the name is associated with strength, leadership and authority — a meaningful choice for a long-awaited son.

How was Dom conceived?

Dom was conceived through in vitro fertilisation (IVF). Lauana chose this assisted reproduction method after freezing embryos. She used an international sperm bank, and after four collection attempts, viable embryos were obtained. The embryo was transferred to her uterus in November of last year, and weeks later an ultrasound confirmed a healthy pregnancy. Lauana announced the pregnancy on Instagram in January 2026.

Who is Lauana's partner?

About a month ago, Lauana officially married Tati Dias in an intimate beachside ceremony in Ubatuba, on the coast of São Paulo state, held at the end of June.
