What Is the AI Training Program for Women Entrepreneurs?

Brazil's Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Micro and Small Business (MEMP) and the Rede Mulher Empreendedora (RME) have launched a free six-month AI training program targeting 5,000 women who already run small businesses. Registrations opened on 12 August 2025.

What Will Participants Learn?

The curriculum covers practical AI tools applied to everyday business tasks, including financial management, customer relations, productivity and digital marketing. The program is structured into ten immersive AI lessons delivered remotely and 12 collective mentoring sessions held in person.

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to women entrepreneurs across all five regions of Brazil. Half of all 5,000 spots — 2,500 places — are reserved for Black women. Applicants must already own or operate a small business and want to integrate AI tools into their management and day-to-day operations. Registration is available through the official channels of MEMP and RME.

Are There Scholarships?

Yes. At the end of the program, 50 participants will be selected to receive a R$1,000 seed-capital grant. Selection is based on individual performance and how well each participant applied the exercises throughout the course. All graduates will also receive an official certificate of completion.

What Is the Broader Context?

This initiative is the first action of the Núcleo Estratégico de Empreendedorismo Feminino (NEEF), a new body created inside the ministry specifically to advance the female entrepreneurship agenda. The program is also part of the cross-sector coalition "Elas Empreendem," which brings together 23 institutions to expand women's access to public policy, credit and technology. MEMP will track outcomes including participants' income and transaction volumes after the course ends.
