Who receives the FGTS profit share?

All workers who had a balance in any FGTS account — active or inactive — on 31 December 2025 are entitled to a share. That covers 138.2 million people across Brazil.

When and how is the money deposited?

Caixa Econômica Federal began crediting the amounts on Friday, 31 July 2026. The money goes directly into each worker's FGTS account — no action is required on your part.

How is the individual amount calculated?

Multiply your FGTS balance as of 31 December 2025 by the index 0.0186834. For example, a balance of R$ 1,000 earns an extra R$ 18.68. Workers with more than one FGTS account (from different employers) receive a separate credit for each account.

Can I withdraw the profit?

No special withdrawal rule applies. The credited amount becomes part of your FGTS balance and follows the same withdrawal rules as always:

  • Dismissal without just cause
  • Purchase of a first home
  • Retirement
  • End of a fixed-term contract
  • Death of the worker or individual employer
  • Public calamity or serious illness

What is the overall return for 2025?

With this distribution, the FGTS total return for 2025 reaches 6.90%, which is 2.53 percentage points above the official inflation rate (IPCA) of 4.26% — a real gain for all account holders.

How can I check my balance?
