Who receives the FGTS profit distribution?

All workers who had a balance in any FGTS account — active or inactive — on 31 December 2025 are entitled to a share of the profit. That covers 138.2 million workers nationwide. The amount credited to each account is calculated separately, so if you hold accounts from more than one employer, each one receives its own credit.

How is the credit amount calculated?

Multiply your FGTS balance as of 31 December 2025 by the index 0.0186834. For example, a balance of R$ 1,000 earns an extra R$ 18.68. The larger your balance, the larger the credit.

When will the money appear in my account?

Caixa Econômica Federal begins crediting the amounts on Friday, 31 July. You can check your balance on the Caixa website or through the official FGTS app after registering your account.

Can I withdraw the profit credit?

The credit is added to your FGTS balance and follows the same withdrawal rules that already apply. Nothing changes: you can access the funds in cases such as dismissal without just cause, home purchase, retirement, end of a fixed-term contract, serious illness, or natural disaster. No new withdrawal window is being opened.

What is the overall return?

With this distribution, FGTS accounts posted a total return of 6.90% in 2025, representing a real gain of 2.53 percentage points above the official IPCA inflation rate of 4.26% for the year. The profit share alone adds 1.87% to the account yield.
