What Is the New ITR Web Service and Who Must Use It?
Brazil's Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) has launched the web version of Minhas Declarações do ITR, a platform that lets rural property owners file, transmit, correct and track their Rural Property Tax Declaration (DITR) entirely online — no software installation required.
Access is through the Receita Federal Services Portal using a gov.br account at silver or gold verification level. The service went live on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Is the Platform Mandatory?
Yes — for certain taxpayers. The web platform is mandatory for all individuals and legal entities that own rural properties larger than 100 hectares. Owners of properties up to 100 hectares may still use the traditional desktop software, the PGD ITR 2026 program, as an alternative.
Who Is Required to File the DITR?
The declaration must be submitted by:
- Owners and usufructuaries of rural properties
- Holders of beneficial domain (titulares do domínio útil)
- Occupants of rural land (detentores)
- In specific cases: co-owners, co-possessors and estate administrators (inventariantes)
What Features Does the Online Platform Offer?
The new environment consolidates all ITR-related documents — declarations, receipts and supporting files — in one place. Highlights include pre-filled cadastral data and full mobile-device compatibility, making it easier for remote landowners to comply without travelling to a city office.
What Happens If You Miss the Deadline?
Late filing triggers the MAED (Multa por Atraso na Entrega da Declaração), a statutory fine. The Receita Federal has not yet published the 2026 filing deadline in this release, so property owners should monitor the official portal for updates.
