Brazil's President Lula has signed a new law creating Pix Pensão Alimentícia — a mechanism that allows courts to order automatic monthly child-support transfers directly from the payer's bank account to the recipient's account, with no action required from the payer. The law takes effect in July 2027 and amends the Civil Procedure Code to make this possible.

Who Can Apply for Automatic Pix Support?

How Do You Request It?

What Happens After the Judge Approves?

The court issues an electronic order specifying the amount, payment date, source account, destination account, and the duration of the obligation. From that point, the bank executes the transfer automatically on the set date — no monthly re-authorisation needed.

Can the Payer Cancel It?

No. Unlike a regular scheduled Pix transfer, this one cannot be cancelled by the account holder. Any change or suspension requires a new court decision.

What If There Is Not Enough Money in the Account?
